Here's a little bit of "gypsy jazz", featuring Django Reinhardt (guitar) and Stephane Grappelli (violin) with the Hot Club Quintet (formally "Quintette du Hot Club de France"). This recording was made in 1937!
The piece was given new life forty-two years later, when Grappelli recorded it again, this time with Philip Catherine and Larry Coryell (on guitars) and Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (on bass).
Grappelli was 71 when they recorded this, and the album they made, "Young Django", is spectacular! (Just sayin'!)
