It's a seasonal song, not for everybody all year long, but quite timely in my part of the northern hemisphere.
The studio version is short and to the point, or relatively so. But it does leave some opportunities for jamming.
And when jamming opportunities turn up, they can certainly take advantage. Check out this performance:
If the world of rock music were a meritocracy, we'd see Crack The Sky playing in arenas if not bigger venues. But it's not; here they're playing in somebody's living room to raise money for charity. Havin' a grand time, too! This is for Catherine:
When the summer night has changed its warmer breezes
to the icy cold of silent winter freezes
will you be there?
When the flowers in the windows of the neighbors
start to bow their frozen heads and to leave us
will I see you there?
Will you stand by me against the cold night
or are you afraid of the ice?
afraid of the ice?
Ice
When the waters of the roaring ocean
bring a chilling feeling and the beach is closing
are you near me?
When the cloudy skies are blocking out the sun
and suddenly your nose has begun to run
do you still hear me?
Will you stand by me against the cold night
Or are you afraid of the ice?
Afraid of the ice?
Ice
Will you stand by me against the cold?
Will you stand by me against the cold?
Will you stand by me against the cold?
Ice
