This is the closing track from Robert's album, "Close Personal Friend", released in 1978.
For that album, Robert assembled a power-trio on good vitamins or something: Blair Cunningham played drums, David Cochran played bass, and Robert played guitars and sang ... most of the time. Robert also plays bass and drums, and David also plays drums, and they all sing. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.
Just listen to this and try to imagine what they could have done if they had found a bit of energy!
Walkin' to the corner
With a friend of mine
He try to sell me
The same old line
Tell me 'bout it, "Slim"
I know where you been
You can say "you got it"
Or say "what it 'tis"
I can talk high class
Cause I'm a gentleman
I try to be your friend
But you lied about that
Do yourself a favor
Get your life together
Tell me 'bout it, "Slim"
I know where you been
I know who you know
And how you wear your clothes
Tell me 'bout it, "Slim"
I know where you been
I know where you go
And how you wear your clothes
